What is Avalanche Studios?
Avalanche Studios is one of the largest, privately held independent studios in the world. Our goal is simple: to develop the best open-world games in the industry. To make this possible, we have assembled the best and brightest staff from around the globe. We consider our employees are the most important resource we have and we work hard to insure the health and happiness of our Avalanche family.
We want our employees to have great opportunities in both personal and career-related development. After all, life should always be fun and rewarding. At Avalanche, we strive to make sure that our employees receive the best opportunities for a sustainable career path within the company. Many of our employees have been with the company since its inception and have risen through the ranks to take management and director roles.
To be able to make the best games in the world we believe it’s important to have a healthy work/life balance and we dedicate great time and energy to protecting this often discussed but rarely enforced principle. Our flextime schedule makes it possible for our employees to manage their starting times and working hours - we consider consistent overtime a sign of poor management. To provide the best conditions for staying in shape, we offer all permanent employees discounted gym memberships. We provide fresh fruit, free drinks and snacks to all employees and keep them entertained with regular company parties and outings. Most importantly, we provide an environment where it is always fun to work and where new ideas are embraced.

How We Think Avalanche is based on the belief in an open and friendly company atmosphere. We are great believers in the success of a flat organization and this influences everything we do. There are no closed offices at Avalanche and all projects are run in cross functional teams. The personal and family atmosphere of the company is rooted in our belief that sharing and collaboration amongst our management and staff can only lead to great things now and in the future.
At Avalanche, we want all of our employees to be involved and a play a part in the evolution of the company. To do this, we hold weekly company meetings where our staff gathers to hear, see and take part in the latest news, announcements and project updates. We encourage employees to explore subjects they find inspiring and to share their discoveries with other employees through seminars, lectures, and outside events.
